Florida Bar Recognizes Clifford Wells As Board Certified Civil Trial Attorney

Herman & Wells is proud to announce that Cliff Wells has been board certified as a civil trial attorney by the State Bar of Florida.  Only board-certified lawyers like Cliff can say that they have been "evaluated for professionalism and tested for expertise."

To become eligible for board certification, Cliff had to conduct trials in at least 15 civil cases.  He also was peer reviewed by lawyers and judges.  Cliff then had to pass a rigorous full-day examination to demonstrate knowledge, skills, and proficiency in civil trial law.  Less than 2% of all Florida lawyers have been board certified as specialists in civil trial.

Congratulations to Cliff!

Jason Herman argues before Second District Court of Appeal

Herman & Wells recently conducted oral arguments before Florida's Second District Court of Appeal.  Our client is a business whose lawsuit for breach of contract, tortious interference, and other claims was dismissed with prejudice by the trial court.  We asked the trial court to reverse that order and allow our client's case to go forward.

Oral argument is often the last step before an appellate court makes a decision in a case.

You can watch a video of the oral argument by clicking here.  Because we filed the appeal, we argued first and had a few minutes at the end for rebuttal.

Jason Herman and Clifford Wells join forces

The law firm of Herman & Wells PA opened its doors in March, combining the two separate law firms founded by Jason Herman and by Clifford Wells, and combining their experience with insurance coverage law and personal injury law.  But no news is official until we post it on our blog and to social media.  Our excuse for waiting so long: we first wanted to win a trial, win a $1,000,000 appeal, and settle a $1,000,000 case.  All boxes checked.
